Compassion

“Why Compassion? I need to be stronger, not kinder.”

There is a misconception in our busy society that self-compassion is a form of weakness and passivity. Yet, self-compassion is a cultivated strength-based skill that motivates us to take healthy actions to address pains and sufferings in our lives. Rather than being stuck in feeling like you’re “never doing enough,” self-compassion can help you feel content and empowered to live a life meaningful to you.

Compassion is

  1. A sensitivity to pain and suffering

  2. A commitment to help alleviate and/or prevent it

  3. An understanding of shared humanity
